Hello and welcome, I’m glad you’re here. My name is Suresh Lama Tamang, and I work with individuals from many walks of life, with a focus on addiction, anxiety, depression, anger management, ADD, grief, and life transitions. I bring experience from both substance use treatment settings and private practice, which allows me to meet clients where they are with compassion and flexibility.
My approach to therapy is rooted in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Mindfulness and Attachment Based Therapy. I aim to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental. A space where you can speak openly, explore your experiences, and develop greater awareness of your inner world. Together, we look at patterns of thinking through the ABC model and work toward reducing emotional distress while creating meaningful, lasting change. I strongly believe that awareness is the first step toward growth, as the saying goes, “once you’re aware of something, you can’t make yourself unaware of it.”
I hold a Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision, a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling, and a graduate certificate in Integrative Mental Health Counseling. I am licensed as a counselor in both state of Florida and Virginia and am also nationally certified as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).
If you’re feeling curious about starting therapy or wondering whether this might be the right next step, I invite you to reach out. Change begins with awareness, and awareness begins with a conversation. If you’re ready to explore what’s been holding you back and move toward a more intentional and fulfilling life, I welcome the opportunity to work with you.
